Next step is to configure radios to work with LCP according to introduced diagram:
Let’s configure radio which will be able to work with all sites. First specify Radio ID.
According to our idea of radio numeration we set Radio ID = 100.
Select GPS, if you need to track the subscriber location (only for radios with GPS support DP/DM 3401, 3601, 4401, 4601, DP 4801, SL4010).
Select Private Calls, if radio subscriber needs to transmit Private Calls. If Private Call is unselected, radio subscriber won’t be able to initiate a Private Call, but the user can continue to receive and respond to Private Calls, and is still able to initiate Call Alerts.
Open Network tab to configure necessary settings:
In the Network tab set Forward to PC to Disabled. If you’re planning to work with SmartPTT application specify ARS Radio ID and TMS Radio ID. Remember that the ARS Radio IDand TMS Radio ID should match the MNIS Radio ID in MOTOTRBO MNIS application. In our case, ARS Radio ID = TMS Radio ID =MNIS ID = 1.
In the Contact tab of Capacity Plus system add necessary contacts (Private Contacts, Group Contacts, All Call) to subscriber’s Contact List. We added 2 Groups in the list of Talkgroups in Master codeplug as Wide Groups. Group 1 with ID=1 is available for all sites, Group 2 with ID=2 is Wide Talkgroup available for Site 2 and Site 3. Local groups should be added to codeplug of the radio. So in this tab I added 4 Groups: Group 1, Group 2 – as wide groups, Group 3 and Group 4 as local groups and other necessary contacts.
If you use SmartPTT third-party application, add Contacts: right-click on Capacity Plus Contacts and select Dispatcher Call to be able to transmit data to SmartPTT Radioserver (Dispatcher-Data on the screenshot below). Then right-click on Capacity Plus Contacts and PC Call to be able to initiate call to Dispatcher (Dispatcher-Voice on the screenshot below). IDs of these contacts should be equal to Slot ID in SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator.
Then you need to add these groups to RX List. In our example it’s OK to use the same RX list for all sites. That’s why I created 1 RX List containing all groups.
Add all repeaters which are in Linked Capacity Plus system to the Channel Pool.
Color Сode should be equal to Color Code specified for repeaters. In our case Color Сode = 1
Then we should create Voice lists and Data lists according to amount of sites.
As all of our repeaters are Trunk repeaters (transmit voice and data), then we create only Voice Lists.
When you add new Voice List, in Available channels list we can see all channels which we added to Channel Pool. So for site 1 add Voice list 1 and add LCP Site 1 -11 and LCP Site 1 -12 to this list.
Please note that IDs in Members list should correspond to Slot 1 ID Channel and Slot 2 ID Channel specified in repeater codeplug.
Create Voice Lists for Site 2 and Site 3 accordingly.
If you have Data channels, please also configure Data List. Please note that IDs in Members list should correspond to Slot 1 ID Channel and Slot 2 ID Channel specified in repeater codeplug.
The next step is to configure Sites lists.
If you don't use roaming, then create several site lists and add only one site at each list.
As we have 3 Sites, let’s add 3 sites lists.
For each Site configure:
Site ID - ID of the site that the subscriber radio will connect to.
Site Alias - name for the site that the subscriber radio will connect to.
Voice List - Voice Channel List that the subscriber radio will use to make voice calls when on the site.
Data List - Data Channel List that the subscriber radio will use to make data calls when on the site
RX Group List - RX Group List that the subscriber radio will use to receive Group Calls when on the site.
If subscriber roams between different sites, then1 site list will contain several sites.
In our case subscriber with ID 100 can roam between all three sites, so we created 1 Site List with all listed sites:
The last step is to add Linked Capacity Plus Personalities.
Right-click on Zone and add Capacity Plus Personality (linked).
For each channel specify:
ARS – On System/Site Change:
ARS feature provides an automated registration for the radio. When the radio powers up, the radio automatically registers with the server. This feature is also used Text Messaging or Location Services.
Auto Roam – Select Auto Roam if Radio Subscriber will be able to roam between sites in LCP system. If disabled, the radio won’t be able to roam to another Linked Capacity Plus site when moving from one site to another.
For each channel select appropriate Site list. The subscriber radio can roam to the sites listed in the Site List.
Select Contact Name which defines the call that may be initiated on the channel by pressing the PTT button when there are no active calls on the channel.
Select Private Call Confirmed and unselect Data Call Confirmed.
