An adapter for connection of a remote or desktop microphone to SmartPTT Dispatch Console
SmartPTT Microphone Connector is an adapter for connection of a remote or desktop microphone to SmartPTT Dispatch Console. SmartPTT Microphone Connector is compatible with all external or desktop microphones from Motorola analog radios (GM, CM, CDM series). The microphone socket connector is RJ45.
SmartPTT Microphone Connector allows dispatcher to make voice calls in a more convenient and regular manner. To initiate a call dispatcher doesn’t have to click the PTT button on the screen but only needs to use the microphone and its hardware PTT button.
NOTE! Before connecting the device to the PC, the installation of the driver is required.
The remote or desktop microphone should be connected to the adapter and the adapter cables are plugged into USB and Line In (or Mic In) ports of the dispatcher PC.
The setup is completed by indicating the virtual COM port and audio input device in the settings of SmartPTT Dispatch Console.
To indicate virtual COM port in SmartPTT, open Dispatch Console, choose Settings ->Equipment -> Control Devices.
In the opened window, select PTT Key settings and check External PTT Pedal COM Port and in the drop-down list select virtual COM port which is used to connect microphone adapter.
To indicate audio input device, open Settings ->Equipment -> Sound.
In the opened window, select Audio Input device which is used to connect microphone adaptor to and click Finish.
