SmartPTT Downgrade Guide

SmartPTT downgrade process can be divided into the following steps:

  1. Save configurations of SmartPTT Dispatcher and SmartPTT Radioserver.
    Note! If you have configuration files from previous version to which SmartPTT will be downgraded, then you can miss this step.
    This step is not obligatory, because in most cases configuration files from higher versions cannot be applied to lower versions. It depends on the version.
    Note! In most cases downgrade process requires configuration of SmartPTT Dispatcher and SmartPTT Radioserver system from the very beginning (if you do not have configuration files of exactly the same lower version).
  2. Uninstall current SmartPTT system.
  3. Delete configuration files from Program Files (x86).
  4. Delete configuration files from ProgramData.
  5. Install older version.
  6. Create new database.
  7. *Import settings (only in case there are saved settings from the required version)
  8. Configure SmartPTT.

 

Save SmartPTT settings

  1. To save SmartPTT Dispatcher settings, go to Service > Save Dispatcher Settings.

  1. In the window that opened, select Settings and/or Database.
    Specify the folder name, and click Save.
  1. Stop Radioservice before saving settings of the radioserver.
    Go to Export/Import Settings tab and click Browse in the Export group box.
    Specify the folder where to export the settings. Select Export Radioserver Database, and then click Export.

Uninstall SmartPTT

Before uninstalling SmartPTT Radioserver, make sure that the radioservice is stopped.

To uninstall SmartPTT Dispatcher and SmartPTT Radioserver, click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features. In the opened list of programs right-click on SmartPTT PLUS or SmartPTT Enterprise application, and select Uninstall.

Note! When you downgrade SmartPTT, you need to uninstall SmartPTT Dispatcher as well as SmartPTT Radioserver before installing another version.

Delete configuration files from Program Files (x86)

When SmartPTT is uninstalled, delete configuration files from Program Files (x86).
To delete Radioserver and Dispatcher configuration files, go to C:\Program Files (x86) and delete/rename SmartPTT folder.

Delete configuration files from ProgramData

Delete configuration files from ProgramData.

Navigate to C:\ProgramData (note that ProgramData is a hidden folder) and delete/rename SmartPTT folder.

Install SmartPTT

Download and install the required SmartPTT older version. To install SmartPTT Dispatcher and SmartPTT Radisoerver, run SmartPTTSetup.exe file.

Create new database

Start SmartPTT Dispatcher and create new database.
Do not connect to the database created on newer SmartPTT versions as database may be corrupted due to differencies between database structures in different SmartPTT versions.

*Import SmartPTT Settings

*Note! Use this step only if you have saved SmartPTT settings of the exact older version.
If you do not have settings of older SmartPTT version, then please configure it from scratch.

Open SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator and stop the radioservice. You need to stop the radioservice to import settings.

Go to Export/Import Settings tab and press the Browse button in the Import group box. Select the folder where you saved settings of the previous version.

Select the Import Radioserver Database (if needed) and Overwrite Server GUID option. Click Import. Then, click Save button and run the radioservice.

 

Run SmartPTT Dispatcher. Go to Service > Restore Dispatcher Settings.

In the window that opened, select Settings and/or Database to restore. Specify the name of the folder with the settings.

Click Restore.

Restart the dispatch console to apply the restored settings.

Configure SmartPTT Settings

When SmartPTT is downgraded, it's necessary to configure SmartPTT Radioserver and SmartPTT Dispatcher from scratch.
