The following is a list of system components affected by the CSBK data feature:
- Repeater – only supported by MTR3000 and 32 MB DR Series
- Radio – only supported by R2.3 and later
- CPS
- MNIS
When the CSBK data feature is enabled, the GPS and ARS data are compressed into a single CSBK data. Window size 1 is only supported by MNIS mode because the window announcement gets transmitted through the repeater’s outbound air interface, while window size 2 is supported by both the control station and MNIS mode.
If the system is a single site system, all window sizes 1 to 2 with CSBK data feature enabled, or 5 to 10 may be used. Examples of such systems are Conventional Single Site, one site IPSC, Capacity Plus or one site LCP.
For multisite IPSC or LCP, if the IP delay between sites is up to 60 milliseconds, the window size must be 1 or 2 with CSBK data feature enabled, or 7, or bigger.
If the IP delay is up to 90 milliseconds, the window size must be 1 or 2 with CSBK data feature enabled, or 8, or bigger. Otherwise, the GPS data may not be transmitted nor received properly.
GPS Mode is configured in Radioserver application:
GPS Transmission Mode – allows you to select the way how to transmit location updates: as a data packet in multiple bursts or as a single CSBK (Control Signaling Block). There are two ways of transmitting CSBK: CSBK data and Enhanced CSBK. In case of Enhanced CSBK you also need to configure Enhanced GPS channel on repeater and radios (Some regions may need to purchase license for this feature from MOTOROLA).
*To transmit location data using CSBK and Enhanced CSBK, configure additional MNIS settings, which include adding repeater latitude and longitude. This information is used for calculation of radio locations. The distance between the subscriber radio and the repeater (refer to the repeater receiving the inbound GPS data over the air) can’t exceed 130 miles.
For IP Site Connect configuration specify latitude and longitude for each network system. In case you use Enhanced CSBK, select Revert Channel as well:
For Capacity Plus configuration specify latitude and longitude just in one place:
For Linked Capacity Plus configuration specify latitude and longitude for each site:
Also, to transmit location data using CSBK or Enhanced CSBK, enable CSBK Data in radio settings:
Note: Remember that Enhanced CSBK can be used on Enhanced GPS channels only.
The following Window Size and corresponding Update Rates can be used.
Here is some additional information about maximum possibble updates per minute per channel in case of different update period and window size:
- 7.5 and 15s update rate are supported only when the window size = 1 or 2
NOTE! To set 7,5 sec in Dispatcher, use 7 or 8. These values will be considered as 7,5 sec update period.
