1. SmartPTT Radioserver Configuration with Analog Control Station
1) Right click on Control Station option and select Add -> Control Station (Analog)
2) New station will be added to the list.
Network ID is a unique identifier of the control station system among other systems. The default value must not be changed.
Specify Control Station Serial Number. It can be obtained at the bottom side of station or via CPS.
Analog Control Station is connected to SmartPTT Radioserver PC via COM-port. To connect Analog Control Station to Radioserver via COM-port, Analog Control Station Adapter is used. It can be made by yourself or you can order it sending request to info@smartptt.com.
If your PC doesn't have any Serial ports, you will need USB-to-Serial Converter which converts from USB to RS-232. After installation of such device there will be virtual COM-port in the system. When you connect Analog Control Station to Radioserver, select this port in Serial Port field.
3) Audio Input and Audio Output audio devices must be set for analog station. This will allow Control Station to transmit voice from Dispatcher to radio network and vice versa. Also, Input line can be selected, if Input device allows multiple Input Lines.
Click Save button and then Restart Radioserver .
After Radioservice is restarted, you will see Control Station on Dispatcher Console.
2. SmartPTT Radioserver and MOTOTRBO Control Station Configuration
MOTOTRBO Control Station is connected to SmartPTT Radioserver PC via USB+Audio Cable which can be made by yourself on the basis of MOTOTRBO PMLN5072 Rear Accessory Connector or can be ordered by sending request to info@smartptt.com.
When you configure SmartPTT Radioserver, there is no difference if MOTOTRBO Control Station operates in Digital mode or in Analog mode
Control Station is used to dispatch and control subscribers, or to connect to existing radio network for dispatch purpose. Connected MOTOTRBO Control Station in Digital Mode will also give the Dispatcher ability to send commands, such as Radio Inhibit, Remote Monitor and other system commands.
1) Right click on Control Stations option and select Add –> Control Station MOTOTRBO
2) New station will be added to the list.
Specify Control Station IP Address and Radio ID. Control Station IP Address and Radio ID parameters in SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator should be the same as specified in MOTOTRBO CPS.
3) For the field Forward to PC select Via USB in the Network settings in MOTOTRBO CPS.
4) All Groups existing in radio network should be listed on Talkgroups page in SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator to provide Dispatcher ability to control this groups.
5) Specify Channel Name, Channel ID and Zone ID in SmartPTT Radioserver Configurator according to MOTOTRBO CPS settings for this subscriber.
When all necessary channels are added to the channel list in Radioserver Configurator, then on Dispatcher Console you will be able to change channel on the Control Station remotely.
6) Audio Input and Audio Output audio devices must be set for digital station. This will allow Control Station to transmit voice from Dispatcher to radio network and vice versa. Also, Input Line can be selected, if input device allows multiple input lines.
Click Save button and then Restart Radioserver .
After Server is restarted, you will see Control Station on Dispatcher Console.
If MOTOTRBO Control Station is used in Digital Mode, then you will also be able to see registered subscribers on Dispatcher Console, you will be able to make All Call, Group Call, Private Call, send Group and Private text messages and other commands, like Block Radio/Unblock Radio, Call Alert, etc.
Note. If Radio is used only for data and Sound settings are not active, then in case MOTOTRBO Control Station in Digital Mode, you will be able to send all commands except Call Alert and Monitoring (as it's supposed that they use Sound Setting).
